1. Are faux wood blinds good for bathrooms?

Yes. Faux wood blinds are one of the best choices for bathrooms. Unlike real wood, faux wood is moisture-resistant and will not warp, crack, or swell when exposed to steam and humidity from daily showers. They wipe clean easily and hold up for years in high-humidity environments. We specifically recommend cordless faux wood blinds for bathrooms, as they are safer in small spaces and have no cord to absorb moisture. Shop bathroom faux wood blinds

2. Are faux wood blinds waterproof?

Faux wood blinds are moisture-resistant, not fully submersible. They handle everyday bathroom humidity, steam, and light splashing without warping or discoloring. For windows directly adjacent to a shower or bathtub where direct water contact is likely, PVC blinds are a better fit as they are 100% waterproof. For all other bathroom windows, faux wood is the ideal choice.

3. Are faux wood blinds better than real wood blinds?

It depends on the room. Faux wood is better for bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and humid climates as it will not warp, costs less, and is easier to clean. Real wood is better for dry rooms such as living rooms and home offices where you want the warmth of natural grain. For most homes, faux wood is the smarter all-around choice. 4. What size slats are best for a bedroom?

For most bedrooms, 2-inch slats are the right choice. They provide a classic look, excellent light control, and are proportional to standard bedroom window sizes. For windows 48 inches wide or wider, or rooms with 9-foot or taller ceilings, 2.5-inch slats will look more proportional. Shop bedroom faux wood blinds

5. Are 2-inch faux wood blinds popular?

Yes. 2-inch faux wood blinds are the most popular slat size on the market. They work well in virtually any room, suit standard window sizes, and offer a timeless look that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. Shop 2-inch faux wood blinds

6. How much do custom faux wood blinds cost?

At AiryBlinds, custom faux wood blinds start at $59.99 per blind. The final price varies based on width, height, and lift style. All blinds are made to your exact measurements with no cutting required. See pricing

7. How do I measure for faux wood blinds?

For inside mount: measure the width at three points (top, middle, bottom) and use the narrowest measurement. Measure the height from the top of the opening to the sill. Enter the exact narrowest opening width. Do not deduct 3/8" yourself — AiryBlinds applies the production allowance automatically. For outside mount: measure the total width and height you want the blind to cover, including any overlap beyond the frame. Always use a metal tape measure and record to the nearest 1/8 inch. See our full measuring guide

8. Should I use inside mount or outside mount?

Inside mount gives a cleaner built-in look and works best when your window frame has at least 1.5 inches of depth. Outside mount is ideal when your window is shallow, when you want to block more light around the frame, or when you want the window to appear larger. Both mount types are available on all AiryBlinds faux wood blinds. See our full inside mount vs outside mount guide

9. Are cordless faux wood blinds safer for homes with children and pets?

Yes. Cordless blinds eliminate the looped hanging cord that poses a strangulation hazard for young children and pets. All AiryBlinds cordless faux wood blinds meet current U.S. child safety standards. We strongly recommend cordless for any room where children under 10 or pets are present.
